Skied a couple of days at the Asulkan Hut. Tree Triangle: skied on a stormy Nov 30, good coverage and good knee deep snow, lots of tracks but still some space. About 150cm probed at Treeline in the tree triangle. Young’s Peak: Dec 1 on a cold partly cloudy day. We skied Forever Young with good conditions- firm but chalky and turnable. 2/3 down the couloir a rocky choke had us boot packing for about 20m. Skied the 7 Steps down Young’s head wall in good conditions with some wind affect. About 180cm probed on the glacier below the head wall.
Test Profile in Tree Triangle at 1900m CTM Resistant Planar results down 40 and 48cm Some surface hoar found down 48cm size 3. Travelling in the north facing alpine revealed only limited cracking of thin stubborn wind slabs. No other notable snowpack weakness. Good obs today and no evidence of any recent natural avalanches.
