Quick report
Afternoon observation to check conditions. The snowpack is completely saturated with liquid water and isothermal. The potential for triggering wet loose avalanches was certainly a concern. Unsupportable snow was well above my boots. Despite the slight cooling temperatures the snow surfaces were wet. Moderate westerly winds were consistent. Hazy skies were likely credited to more dust being blown in from dry Eastern Idaho.
A solid freeze is promising tonight looking at the forecasted temperatures. Conditions should improve for stability and travel/riding once the snowpack freezes. The question will be how much the snowpack will freeze and if snow surfaces will break down as temperatures rise tomorrow afternoon. Cloud cover should help. Stay tuned.

The Gatorade test showed the potential for water to percolate to the bottom of the snowpack. Most of the water pooling occured on the March 7th crust and January drought layer (darker color).
HS: 140cm , March 7th crust buried 20cm, January drought layer buried 60cm, December crust buried 90cm.
All these weak layers and crusts will no longer be an issue across all the forecast zones once the snowpack freezes.
