Beautiful day out in Mill A. Generally stable feeling snow on the south/southeast slope we descended. Lots and lots of wind transport.

Snowpack

Instability Comment

Wind picked up around 10am and started transporting a lot of snow. Wind was swirling and moving snow on all aspects on mid and upper elevations. Huge cornices on the Raymond saddle made us change our mind about moving any further towards the summit. One cornice had cracked 4-5 feet back from its edge but not fallen. A good reminder that cornices can break off further back than expected.

Lots of snow coming. Danger will rise before it falls again.
