-
It's clearly snowed a lot in the last few days. GOOD. Best December base in recent memory. But of course, the early season blues of the PWL loom.

-
digging a few quick hand pits we saw a couple of mid-storm instabilities: one about a foot down (last 24 hours) and another about 2 feet down (48 hours). Clean shears, but didn't pop out with any intensity.

We didn't dig down deep enough to get to the ground to confirm if there was the PWL at the bottom, but assume it was there. The question is: at what elevation in PoFo was there snow before Thanksgiving? we skied a lot of open, low angle terrain that has been skied pretty hard over the last week or two, and a little bit of fairly densely treed steeper (33+ degree) slopes that haven't been hit very hard. We had no whoomphs. We did not venture into any windloaded terrain, tho had the perceived E wind continued or increased, it may have gotten slabby even in lower, more typically-sheltered NE facing terrain.

Once again, a little on the dense, surfy side. Then the showers at the end of the day also had graupel.
