We found apparently stable snow, more than expected new snow, and pretty good powder conditions, with no obvious signs of instability. Our snowpit shows the crust from last week's warm spell beneath new snow from the last couple days. There is weaker snow both above and just under the crust, but we were unable to get column propagation with our ECT.

The trees up high were shrouded in frost and snow....

Snowpack

More than expected new snow and pretty good powder conditions up high.  The fresh snow was more like mashed potatoes than powder below about 8200' and wet and sloppy below about 7500', with roller balls, pinwheels and surface sluffs all apparent.
