Quick report
Wet with not much visibility was the theme of today. Rain fell on as the predominant precipitation type up to 6,500 feet. Above that, fat and wet snowflakes were observed falling onto moist and crusty snow surfaces.
Small amounts of blowing snow were observed, with no other signs of instability.Weather

Temperatures remained near to above freezing levels. Winds blew at a light speed with moderate gusts from the southwest.
Snowpack
At 6,400 feet on a northwest aspect, a 40-inch deep (100 cm) snowpack exists. The snowpack displayed a right side up structure with a crust layer 26 inches, (60 cm) down from the surfaces. Soft first hard snow is preserved beneath the moister rich surface. Stepping off my sled, a boot penetration up to my knee was experienced. The top 3 cm of surface snow has been saturated.
