Solar aspects were crusty to about 7,000' beneath a few inches of fresh snowfall. Above that, the snow surface mainly consisted of loose, dry snow. We observed very little evidence of wind effect, even on exposed ridge lines. 

Dug on an east-facing slope at 10,000', which revealed a total height of snow around 160 cm (~5'); however, rocky features and those that have previously avalanches remain very shallow (60-70cm [2-2.5 feet]). Around 10cm (8 inches) of rounding facets at the base, ~2mm in size. ECTX result, but likely would produce a propagating PST result as the slab above the weak snow was ~ 80cm of 1F+ hardness, which can dampen taps in snowpack tests. Some upper snowpack ECTN results, but nothing notable and all <half the column as storm interfaces have healed.  Probed depths along the route were quite variable; noted old avalanche debris in Broken Falls drainage and several other smaller paths on the E face (more action happened during the early Jan. cycle than previously observed).
