Quick report
Snow surfaces have been reshaped and smoothed out by the recent wind event. Signs of loading and scouring are plentiful. No surprise there given the recent hurricane. Gauging new snow amounts from the past 24 hours was difficult as most of it had been moved around. Depths in loaded areas range from 6-18 inches above 8,000’. This includes all the snow since 3/7.
Recent slabs are generally hard, with ski pen ranging from 0-3 inches. No cracking or collapsing, though that might not be indicative of good stability with the hardness of wind slabs out there. No recent avalanche activity visible in the peaks around Wimpys.
A quick pit in a loaded spot at 9,000’ did not propagate a crack. ECTN17 down 25cm (10in). Depth to 3/7 crust was 50cm here. Multiple dust layers were visible in this pit. We can’t catch a break!

Cold and a bit wintery up there. Light ridgetop winds out of the NW gusting to moderate. Occasional blowing snow around 10,000’. Warming up mid-day below 9,000’.
