- Poor Snowpack Structure
Unsurprisingly surface hoar developing. Observed from snow line (8,000 ft) to 8,500 ft (highest elevation we went to) and on southeast through north aspects. I would estimate it was 2-3" of settled snow. When I went up Tuesday morning it was around 4" but had condensed down since then, and it rode like it had already condensed somewhat since the storm had come through so I would estimate 5-6" fell on Sunday night. Snow on the surface was fairly continuously sugary on the surface yesterday, however was supportable (not punching through to the ground). Stayed mostly on North and North East aspects, didn't venture to North West.
