Snowpack

Instability Comment

Normal Caution. Pockets of wind slabs on easterly aspects and sub-ridges from previous winds but very stubborn and small. Dug a few hasty pits on west and north aspects around 9500' and found some facet/crust sandwiches on the westerly aspects, no notable stability results with resistant planar fractures on various crusts about 30 cm down.

2 cm new snow. Rapidly decomposing and starting to facet. South through southwest aspects supportable crust. North facing terrain roughly 12 cm of near surface facets from rapid diurnal recrystallization.
