1. Natural on S aspect at 8,500 feet, Combo Wind slab with a little solar warming made this pop out. R1 D2

The Snowpack is really starting to heal this is two days in a row that I have seen the Basel facets rounding and only 4F. Both were at about 8000 ft and on a N aspect with similar HS but yesterdays was near the weather station on Ben Lomond and today was in Birch usually our snowpacks are not so identical in the Ogden Mountains. ECTX also on both days. Really good bonding of the Old snow surface and the 7 Inches of heavier snow on Jan 7th ( shovel Tilt and Commpression tests had no notable results). We really are starting to look at an awesome snowpack here in Ogden even the the deep persistent slab still lingers. I feel like a broken record also saying that if you find a shallow spot or in some rocks or trees where more facets formed I still think a well connected slab could be triggered. I think the key until Wednesday night storm is to watch the solar aspects and do good surface observations to keep you out of touble. With that note though people are starting to push the terrain here in Ogden. I have no complaints and neither do any of the Ogden skiers it has really just been phenomenal skiing since Dec 14th!!!!

Especially in the Middle Earth area and on SE aspects where I was in Birch Creek</p> <p>As things warm up again tomorrow we could finally shock the system. Today they temps were moderate and with the wind it kept the snow surface cold. </p>
We have received 4 inches since Thursday in very light density snow that has just kept falling not sure when the storm started and another ended.
