Pit #1: 7870', N Aspect, HS = 225 cm. ECTX, CTM Q2 down 40 in new snow.
Skied from 7950', N Aspect, HS = 210 cm
Pit #2: Dug before potential second lap in consideration of slight NW aspect after noticing poor structure in pole probes on W aspect while skinning back up. 7930', N Aspect, HS = 130 cm. ECTP28 down 55 cm on loose F hard facets under a 1F+ slab. We did not ski this slope. There were multiple shadow tracks below the new snow on this slope.
F hard facets in areas of similar HS were also found at lower elevations on E and W aspects on 3/4 at Lambs. While this problem seems very isolated, and there have been no reports of human triggered avalanches on this structure, it illustrates the high spatial variability in the peripheral zones, and to me empasizes that it's worth sticking a shovel in the snow, especially in peripheral zones.
