Cloudy Tuesday with light snow turning moderate with a period of heavy snowfall mid morning as wind let up a bit, to become strong again in the afternoon. There was 4" new snow with a dense 0.39" of water but the main feature was the wind, especially the strong gusting. Wind let up after dark as it started to clear and then the temperature, which had been dropping throughout the day, turned very cold with this mornings low of -17ºF. Snowpack reached 55" deep though settled an inch overnight. Now clear and calm. Winter snowpack water content is at 15½" of water (rounded to nearest ½ inch). billy in Gothic (with no wind)
