Quick report
- Collapsing
- isolated
Overall the snowpack was giving low warning. signs that on steeper slopes things would slide, but I kept my angles mostly under 30deg. Several snowpack collapses around/just above alder line. One large (30-50ft diameter?) collapse while skiing down, at ~1800ft elevation, got my attention on section over 30deg and I was a little surprised that a small slide didn't start. One small (15ft wide) section of soft surface snow released and moved as slab on a very steep rollover within the alder zone. No shooting cracks. No natural avalanches observed.
