• Multiple avalanches observed today with a mix of few slabs and many wet loose events. I suspect that many of the slabs failed on the Mar 22nd storm interface, but it’s possible some events may have failed on deeper layers. Details are in the avalanche tabs. • Snowpack is melting fast on the Canyon floor.

• Rain began at about 1700 yesterday (Mar. 23rd) and kept up until about 0900 this morning. The Shed 4 weather station recorded another 1.25” of rainfall during this time. Rainfall picked up again around 1600. • Temperatures warmed rapidly today reaching the mid-40s to 50 °F on the Canyon floor. Freezing level climbed to about 7000’. • Light SW winds on the Canyon floor with moderate to strong SW winds above 6000’.

These crowns looked newer and I suspect these released early this morning. Could not view the debris terminus. Actually 2 crowns, 1 at the top of the path (photo) and another several hundred feet directly below.
