Lots of wind drifted snow and variable conditions above 12k. Lots of breakable crust and barely supportable wind board about 12 in thick above 4 in fresh snow around 13-14k ft.

Snowboarder tracks going into crown of avalanche, looks like they road out of it. Went over to check to make sure there were tracks coming out of the debris field. Between D1-D1.5 in size. Maybe a wind slab but in a more sheltered area, so put persistent slab. Unsure of type. Looks like the bergschrund undercutting the slab helped weaken it, with the rider triggering it.
