Quick report
Began the tour at 6:45 AM, no signs of instability on the tour up to Dutchmans. Snow and wind were present during the hike up. Fresh snow appeared to be in the 40cm area with wind-blown sections reaching up to ~80cm No formal avalanche tests were completed i.e. ECT test or structure analysis in a dug pit. However, based on pole tests, hand shearing, and no observation of whomps or cracking, we determined that the conditions were safe. At one point in the tour, I found a section >45 degrees and gave it a stomp. No observed propagation. Overall, I would say that the snow was stable. Of course, maintain normal levels of caution in the Dutchman area. Suggested to tour through the trees if you are skiing Dutchman. Enjoy!
