Wind loading through this last storm cycle was the top issue in my mind today. I decided to find some low consequence test slopes to check for reactivity of newly formed wind slabs. I ended up triggering a small release on a NE facing aspect. While skiing across the wind slab it fractured under my skis and slid just a few feet. Based on this observation I decided to avoid going on or under wind loaded slopes. As for south facing aspects, new snow is quickly eroding or developing a wind buff. Most South facing slopes had protruding vegetation or a breakable crust. Weather conditions today are sunny, clear skies, and Temps in the mid 30s.
