Widespread whumphing varying from small underfoot to ice rink size, it seemed like this was dependent on the depth and cohesion of the surface snow. The snowpack depth was very variable from 30cm to 90cm, but across the board, we found around 30cm of facets at the base of the snow pack. Got eyes on an avalanche in NE aspect of Wimp Bowl (N-D1-U). Widespread whumphing from NNE to SSE aspects of 4068 on the 2600' bench (these were the only aspects we traveled).

Overcast skies, moderate wind ~15 mph from SE, short burst of graupel around 2:00 pm.
Snowpack
We dug pits at 2600' and 2900' on SSE aspects and observed generally weak structure throughout. All pits showed a layer of denser settled snow on top of a decomposing crust and facets. All pits showed moderate strength (CT18 SC, ECTN11 SC, all failing near the top of the facet layer.) Relatively low propagation potential in the areas where we dug pits (PST 65/100 END), but we did notice widespread large whumphs in other areas where the surface snow was behaving more like a slab. Buried facets were observed in all locations; the amount of snow above the facets was variable due to recent wind transport.
Avalanche
Saw a recent avalanche on the NE aspect of Wimp Bowl (SS-N-D1-U). Estimated elevation 3600'.
