- <p>Saw one small natural on a steep north-facing drainage at 8,700'. Photo attached. I was expecting to see this after the wind and fresh snowfall we experienced Sunday about a mile to the north. Did not experience any sluffing or collapsing on the moderate north-facing terrain we were skiing today. </p>
Except for the steepest north and east facing areas and along wind-loaded ridges, I would expect mostly low danger conditions tomorrow. I would give the ridges and the steeps a few more days to settle down.
Snowpack
Really wonderful light new snow, about 8 to 9 inches of fresh. No wind loading or crusts on the moderate angle west-facing aspens. Obvious drifts and pillows near the ridge. Skin track was a bit of work, but the turns were very good. Total depth near the bottom of the run, at 8,650', was 210cm. When I dug a pit there five weeks ago, total depth was 165cm.
