Woke up to about 5" of new snow at the Friends hut and windy. Snowpack varying between 85-95cms at 11,400ft. Above treeline starting around 12,000ft we experienced whumphing on Southwest slopes on what appeared to be windloaded slopes. It was a soft slab about 4 fingers hard about 5" deep and was isolated to certain features that had experienced wind loading. Other than those specific areas, no other instabilities were noted. Skied off of the S/SE side of pearl pass and had amazing turns!
