Quick report

glopping, verb, acronym: growing loads of pestilential paste impeding normal glide. Lots of damp surfaces out there in the WMR backcountry today. While nothing that we skied outside the boundary was hit by rain, it all seemed bent on some level of stickiness. Most notable was a surface change around 5800ft that stopped you cold (despite not being that at all) when you skied onto it. No evidence of instability on our tour, even on steeper aspects. Temps hovering around freezing, with obscured or overcast skies. Light winds kicking on later in the afternoon. Perhaps a quarter to a half inch of accumulations while we were out. The frontside of the resort was full spring taters as we made it back to the car.
