Snow Profile 11:58am HS 310cm 2024m elevation 31 degrees NW aspect ECTX Density (Top 110cm of snowpack) 12cm F (Storm snow) 8cm Pencil (Rain crust) 6cm (Facets) 10cm Pencil (Wind slab) 3cm K (MF crust) 50cm 4F (Settled storm snow Sun-Mon) 21cm 1F (Old settled snow) I wanted to get a feel for how much of a bridging agent the recent rain crust would be for the storm snow below from Sunday-Monday. The Rutschblock cord cut the crust like a hot knife through butter which made me feel more suspect about its bridging. After the tap test I gently pushed the back of the column and found the top layers of storm snow down to old wind slab released with ease on the lower MF crust down 36cm. With that, upper layers appear to be bonding with time though the recent rain crust is fragile and unsupportive despite a Pencil density. This crust is also sitting on 6cm of facets. I also wanted to see how the snowpack was bonding below the crust layers as I wasn’t sold on its bridging results. Last video shows the ECT test below the upper layers, nothing moved aside from a small break.
