Traversed crystal ridge yesterday on more of a ski-mo tour with little focus on skiing. Highly wind affected on the ridge top, with massive cornices overhanging the east side of the ridge. Had no evidence of cracking or instability, just some 2-4" slab on the surface in very small, isolated areas. Skied a few medium sized slopes as we traversed south along the ridge. Snow was heavy, crusty, wet but stable. Our final ski-out to the highway on what I believe to be Helen shoulder south was a large, highly sun affected slope with light glading and was quite hard to ski. Lots of tracks in adjacent areas from earlier in the day. TLDR; Gorgeous blue bird day top be out exploring, with stable but poor snow conditions on the sun slopes. Pack the sunscreen!
