Cold day at Allen Creek

WOW cold. Very minimal traces of new snow. Foggy and cloudy day today with very light winds from the east. Alpine snow is wind affected anywhere you can find a piece of untouched. There is a think windslab in lee areas sitting on top of some loose crystals that would be suspect if it gets more snow. The December 15th surface hoar layer is down 25cms at 2000m in sheltered treeline areas. Moderate compression test results on this layer although no extended column results (which would show a tendency for those shooting cracks aaaand avalanches) Riding is quite poor as the majority of the riding areas have been smashed by sleds and extreme weather. Snowpack depth at treeline is 165cms.
