Avalanche Information
As mentioned above, several D1.5-D2 slides on NW-N-NE-E facing terrain that appeared to have occurred this morning on E facing terrain and on later dates.
Weather
3-4” of new snow from 3/6. Skies were clear with light winds out of the NW and temperatures above 11000’ were around 25F and warming throughout the day. Sunny skies and a warming trend continues this week.
Snowpack
No obvious signs of instability during uphill or downhill travel, but several stability tests show potential for avalanches occurring on an unpredictable weak layer several feet below the surface that could step down and entrain the entire seasons snowpack. ECTP 17 @ 67 cm after an initial stubborn ECTX that was not convincing. PST END 48 & 45/100cm @ 77cm.
