Quick Observation

Forecast called for calm and sunny, unfortunately it turned out to be quite the opposite. Strong winds out of the east and lots available snow for transport made for near zero visibility. Strong easterly’s causing reverse loading in the area. West facing terrain getting loaded through the day. Dug a quick pit at approximately were the map pin is and had propagation on the 20th tap at about 45cm depth. The failure was not in the most recent storm snow but rather in a deeper, older layer.

Weather

Lots of loose snow from the previous days snowfall getting moved around by strong easterly winds.

Snowpack

ECTP20@45cm (X2) 2 extended column tests propagated on the 20th tap. Failure layer was an old storm snow interface at 45cm depth.
