Apex Proper Powder 8 Bowl Avy

Passed skier's right of a convex pillow formed in the lee of some trees. When below the feature, during a right turn, heard a "pop" above and to the left. Checked above over my right shoulder and saw no movement. During the next turn, saw slow moving debris to the left gradually entraining snow below. No significant crown visible above, perhaps 10-15 cms thick. The wind slab in the debris looked approximately 15cms. Strong west winds at the time. Evidence of recent strong winds from west at top of Apex Proper. No significant snow in the last two weeks. Slope would also have had sun effect below wind slab due to recent clear, warm weather.
