Surprise Pass

Surprisingly good conditions on Surprise Pass. Wasn't expecting much but decided to go anyways. Skin track was nice and soft. Was able to skin all the way to pass. Descent was chewed up at the entrance but ski quality was pretty good about 1/3rd of the way down. Some soft snow, some wind affected snow but all in all pretty good! No obvious signs of instability in the area. Only saw two other parties which was a shock considering the long weekend. Temp in parking lot was -31, not sure about up top but stayed quite layered all day. All in all a great day out. :)
