Boom Mountain. A cold start at -23c, warming to -7c at the summit, minor temperature inversion. Winds picked up in the afternoon. Mostly sunny. Found ~15cm of newer mostly powder snow atop the old concrete layer, seemed to be bonding well to it. Found some isolated windslabs (5-15cm thick) on the way up near treeline with minor cracking and a whumpf, sitting atop unconsolidated snow it didn't give me too much concern. The solar input was getting pretty high later in the afternoon with wet surface on S slopes. I noticed a new size 2 avalanche in one of the slide paths that appeared to be skier triggered, hope everyone is OK
