Quick Observation

Thursday we had a beauty of a spring day. 35cm on top of last weeks high elevation rain crust at 2100m. Light to no wind effect but definite signs of wind transport. We started the day very conservative, with test result giving us CTM 11/13 dn 35cm on the crust with a 4cm layer of loose new snow directly below it sitting on a old layer of dense 1F snow. Prime for a new storm soft slab. Ski cut and sled cut ever micro feature, convex and steep low consequence slope we could. Got no results, pops whumphs or cracks. But did not let our guard down and managed terrain and big ski lines with good travel habits and communication. This is not the time of year to think what you test in the morning will be the same in an hour or two.
