It was hard to get my head off the pillow this morning seeing little new snow at Whitewater. But when I saw the Redfish Creek snow pillow data I thought it was worth checking out. We were rewarded with 30+cm of fresh snow and some super fun pillow skiing. It was snowing 2cm an hour while we were out. We skied NE asp between 1950-1650m. We ski cut numerous size 1 storm slab avalanches very easily from steep features with crowns 30-45cm. We also saw some evidence of size 1-2 natural avalanche releases during the storm.
