Quick Observation

It was beautifully warm and sunny... and that made it great. The area we skied today, drainage and col to the North of cirque peak, had conditions more acurately described by the "trace" snowfalls than the "20 cm" discussed in the avy bulletin. Without new snow to freshen things up, the area is a mixed bag for ski quality, hard, punchy, soft, crusty, facetted...etc. We toured to the East end of the valley and up around to North side of Cirque Peak. There looks to be some potentially good skiing on the glacier (see photos) and the couloir, no guarantee though.
