Amazing conditions on Hamilton Lake Traverse today. Ski penetration of about 20cm, so things will most likely move around with the strong winds forcasted tomorrow....
Triggered two size 1 today while doing the Hamilton Traverse, one on a East Aspect going down Carnavon Shoulder, the other 1/3 down the run on the left side of Top of the hat. Both were directly triggered by skiers and consisted of the new storm snow from Last Thursday, which obviously came with strong winds. An unbreakable crust could be felt right under the new snow while coming down the shoulder from Carnavon. Breakable melt freeze crust has started to form lower down the valley near the end of Top of Hat Left run.
