Quick Observation

Skied the treed shoulder of Storm Mtn opposite Chickadee Valley - saw nobody else on the east side of the valley despite multiple vehicles parked to access Chickadee. Between 8-20cm fresh snow over a generally supportive midpack made for good turns, especially in the middle of the runs as breakable crust formed higher on SW aspects. Mixed sun and cloud all day with intermittent precip.

Weather

Overcast to obscured sky all day, with consistent L wind from the W-SW. New snow amount varied from 5cm at the car to over 15cm at treeline, with minimal wind effect. Precip varied from S-1 to S1 through the day.

Snowpack

Snowpack consistently failed on two layers: the upper storm snow (CTE2-3) and slightly below this on what appeared to be a faceting crust layer above a denser slab. Midpack (25cm to 120-135cm down) was well consolidated with around 1F hardness, resting on basal facets to ground.
