Quick Observation
Riding quality was amazing. The snow at the ridge was wind affected and punchy at times, but was soft enough that it didn't feel like you were catching your skis on the surface. Dropping below treeline, the snow became incredibly soft and powdery. We dug a pit just below the ridge and the snow was consolidated from surface (150cm) to 45cm above base. The snow was sugary/chalky and was four finger. ***Note about Home Run - The alders at the bottom are quite dense and tough to navigate, I would suggest riding the skin track down from the hut.
Weather
Snowpack
ECTN30, Melt freeze crust at 45cm and below. No obvious layers above, there was a band of storm snow at 120 that would break in a hand shear test. Dense layer of wind affected snow on the top of the snow pack.
