Weather

Upon arrival to the region strong NW winds were present. Heavy transport was occurring and cross loading gully features. Snowfall rates of near 3 inches per hour was witnessed early Thursday morning. Approximately 19 inches of snow was present at the SNOTEL stake.

Snowpack

19 inches of new snow resting on a firm melt-freeze crust. The lower 10 inches bonded well to the pre-storm surface layer. The top 9 inches was weakly bonded. Deep snowpack analysis was not performed due to the non-backcountry snowpack present.
