Went to Snoqualmie Mountain to ski the slot couloir and found mostly right side up, safe snow. As we climbed we found deeper and deeper new snow accumulation that eventually gave way to truly amazing pow. We did not ski the slot first so we cannot say what signs of instability we saw there. We went to mitigate the exit to the slot couloir before skiing it and were able to trigger D0.5 wind slabs by dropping large snow chunks and part of a cornice on the face. They had a crown of about 1-2inches. Other than that, we observed mostly right side up snow. Wind had transported pockets but we did not find them particularly hazardous or reactive. A great day in Snoqualmie Pass.
Avalanche
Dropped snow/cornice chunks on the phantom trees slot exit and observed a D0.5 wind slab with about a 1-2in crown.
