Quick report
1030-1630 tour from Timberline up climber’s trail to 10.7K’ Hogsback bergschrund (via WRG rim) then down skier’s left of DK fumarole thru WRG to standard 8500’ish exit and out via Timberline (semi-sticky) groomers. Mild-mod Westerlies for most of the tour kept things reasonably cool and efficient (until the late afternoon sticky ski below Palmer) w almost no evidence of snow instabilities on ascent or (somewhat loose wet defensive) descent likely thanks to colder and windy conditions in recent days. Things will be warmer and calmer Monday though and unsure of quality of freeze tonight. Whiteout monitoring and management was the bigger story of the day. Started clear, but by early/mid afternoon was starting to build and threaten. By 4pm drop-in was becoming consistently thicker, esp on triangle moraine/upper Palmer snowfield. WRG glacier was spared, but made sure to ski it quickly to ensure visibility given limited exit-finding options and crevasse concerns had it spread there too.
