Three of us toured up Tamarack this morning. It was blowing hard - whipping around form all directions at times. At other times, or in other areas, we could be pretty well sheltered. We had some cracking along our skin track. Maybe 4" deep. At one short steeper section, the top layer (4") slid. We dug a snow pit at 9750' on a moderately protected, 20 degree, north facing slope. There was one meter of snow, with a moderate crust at 40cm and then at 80cm from the surface. Below the bottom crust was 10cm of very rotten snow. The new snow had two very reactive layers at approximately 8cm and 20cm from the surface. We couldn't get anything to move on the rotten snow at the bottom.
