Quick report
I toured out to the far eastern edge of terrain in the Mount Rose zone today. I moved across N-NE-E-SE aspects in two adjacent drainages and did not encounter any obvious signs of instability. I dug one snowpit which also did not reveal signs of instability. Given that persistent slabs often give little feedback, I still choose to avoid any significant avalanche terrain.
Of note, surface hoar 8-10 mm in size was widespread at all elevations traveled both at and below treeline. I did not travel above treeline. The sun was beginning to lay down the SH on SE aspects, but it showed no signs of change today on the N-NE-E aspects that I traveled.

Snowpack
I dug down to the old near surface facet layer buried on Jan 31 at the start of the recent storm cycle on a NNE aspect near 9,000'. In this specific location the layer was 4 feet below the snow surface and capped by a stout rain crust. My snowpit tests revealed no signs of instability at this specific location.
