Quick report
Surface snow quality and depth increased with elevation. Above 5.5k snow quality was good. Probably at least 10 inches or more of recent snow at these upper elevations. Despite the recent warm up many cornices still intact. Creek beds lower down are opening significantly. There was some observed flagging at ridge lines. Sunny most of the day with only whisps of clouds. Northerly slopes at upper elevations had some wind affect (see photo). No other evidence of instability aside from small avalanches mentioned.
Avalanche
We observed different types of avalanches on different aspects. - triggered small wind slabs on surface crust on NW facing steep aspects at roughly 7 thousand feet - triggered wet loose avalanches on surface crust later in the day (2 pm-ish) on steeper surfaces on N facing aspects that had been warmed by sun and temps - observed wet slides, near rock walls that had been triggered by the sun around 6-7k - no one was caught or carried in the small avalanches we triggered
