Left alpental parking lot 8:10 Cold and very cloudy, 24F Came above the inversion around 4400 in pineapple , temperature increased to the top of pineapple to above freezing. Freezing rain crust from yesterday (1/19) was everywhere once we came into pineapple basin Rollerballs and shedding started around 1:30 and ramped up in the 2 o’clock hour on our skin out of Denny side. No evidence of wind slab nor transport where we traveled Profile on S slope, 4950ft HS 235 1/16 interface down 35cm 1/8 interface down 80cm solstice crust down 125cm Some faceted snow around the crusts, all seem to be healing. Snowpack tests: Mid storm layer down 25cm: CTM Q3 1/8 crust: CTH Q3 Performed ECT as well with no result. Cold East flow aloft, but with air from the NW warming things up on the west side of the pass in Denny drainage. In pineapple basin, the E flow kept things cold below 4200. Nice skiing out, pretty socked in between 4400-3700. Pass proper/aplental we’re cold at 3:30.
