Quick report
Generally shallow snowpack above 8000' with weakening structure. I saw no evidence of loose wet activity, only point releases that appeared several days old. Solar aspects had thin crusts that started to soften throughout the day. Northern aspects stayed cold. Ridgelines were scoured down to the ground in several locations. Very small surface hoar isolated to valley bottoms and 10-20cms of boot penetration throughout the day.

Snowpack
I observed a shallow snowpack (120cms) above 8000', and challenging coverage below with bare ridgelines and scoured areas. On a NE aspect at 8700' I observed two well formed crusts down 50cms and 80cms with bands of 4F 1-2mm facets below each crust. These crusts were thick and difficult to isolate. I received SP fractures 85cms down in two CT tests, no results in an ECT, and two propagating PSTs (one in each facet layer). I also observed small facets forming near the surface under a large (10C) temperature gradient.
