Quick report
Ski touring up spout springs, experienced slight propagating cracks along the skin track. On the summit of Spout Springs looking down the bowl on the backside (leeward side), we dug a snowpack pit to observe the snowpack. About 28cm of fresh snow on top of a thin ice crust. When performing an isolated column test, the column failed slightly on tap 18, completely failed on tap 23. The failure occurred at the ice layer 28cm below the surface. We didn’t get a good enough photo, but in the photo attached, you can kind of see the snowpack. We pulled off the slab of snow that failed off the column. Next time we go out, we will get better photos.
