Quick report

Our group traveled from big creek toward Hummingbird in the afternoon. We experienced a seemingly very stable snowpack. We did limit exposure to wind effected avalanche terrain and we were able to observe a lot of wind effected snow. The freeze line was around 6000 feet. The weather started out with some snow showers and shifted to broken cover in the later afternoon. A quick pit at 7700' on a south facing slope revealed about 70 cm of new snow since the rain crust and tested ECTN 26. The new snow was completely right side up at this location.
