Tamarack Ski Patrol conducted route checks along the north and south ridge lines early this afternoon. Moderate to strong W/SW winds were blowing snow all day. Patrol decided to walk the corniced-ridge lines and inspect new cornice development and/or wind slab formation. We found 5-10” thick of new cornice formation and wind slabs, just beneath ridge lines. Temperatures were warm (above freezing at 7700’ most of the day).
