Observed some shooting cracks from my skis while walking on the leeward side of the high ridges. ~6 inches deep.

Overcast skies all day as we remained on the southern edge of moisture coming into the Pacific NW. Winds were light out of SW. Temperatures warmed to the upper 20s to low 30s F at upper elevations.
Snowpack
I dug a pit on an E/NE aspect to observe the depth of faceting in the upper snowpack over the past several weeks. Near-surface faceting has impacted the upper 10-15 cm (4-6 inches) of snow. Although less substantial, the upper 50-60 cm (1.5-2 ft.) has also been undergoing a faceting process. This was observed with faceting rounds noted adjacent to the 01/03 MFcr. ECTN 12, 16, 24. All failures were at different interfaces within the upper 1-2 feet (either NSF or faceting rounds). New snow amounts were less than what I observed yesterday south of Tamarack. HN 2-5 cm (1-2 inches). Quiet day in the mountains (for weather, snowpack, and humans).
