Quick report

Burned-off South facing except ribbon on Castle East Ridge. Forest on upper ridge loaded and non-uniform. North-facing aspects carry plenty of snow. Everything fully supportive and hard-surfaced until mid-day. High-tech snow shoes with aggressive spikes and toe crampons were the appropriate tool. If intending to ski generally on N-facing, conditions would be scratchy until noonish or later. Transition to soft after noon resulted in an inch or two of soft on surface, otherwise generally supportable. Return midafternoon included solid booting down a nice long ribbon of remaining snow in SE-facing of broad gully on Castle East Ridge.
