Wind was doing lots of work, building slabs well down into middle elevation terrain. There were a few density changes in the new snow, but I did not see any signs of a reactive storm slab problem, needed to have a good bit of wind to build the slab. Towards the end of the day I experienced some sizable collapses on shaded slopes at middle and upper elevations involving the 3/12 weak layer. This persistent slab problem is beginning to rear its ugly head. This will likely get worse before it gets better. I watched a dust deposition event happening live around sunse, wild. Danger was continuing to increase on my exit from the field well after dark, thanks to ongoing snowfall and strong, steady winds moving tons of snow.
Avalanche
I observed some small natural wind slab avalanches in wind affected middle and upper elevation terrain. These were failing at the base of the most recent round of storm snow, but above the 3/12 interface.
